The Coming Home Experience

the itinerary

The schedule is intentionally flexible to honor weather, energy, and the needs of the group.

  • Step onto the land and let yourself arrive. Check in, settle into your space, and take a moment to breathe in the serenity of the surroundings. Enjoy some free time to wander, explore, and connect with the energy of the land.

As the sun begins to settle, gather in the lodge for a nourishing supper, sharing the first moments of community and connection.

The evening unfolds with our Opening Ceremony—immerse yourself in forest bathing, set heartfelt intentions, honor the land and your own spirit, and experience the cleansing warmth of the sweat lodge.

Finally, surrender to the night and the crisp mountain air, resting deeply to awaken refreshed and ready for a full weekend of transformation, connection, and renewal.

  • We welcome the morning together with gentle movement and conscious breath, awakening body and spirit to a new day in the mountains. After gathering in the lodge for a nourishing breakfast, the group lovingly divides, each stepping into their own path of discovery and experience.

    The Medicine Drum Journey:
One group remains at the lodge, dedicating the day to crafting their own 16” Medicine Drum. Guided by intention and meaning in every step, participants choose and personalize their hoop and hide before weaving their drum by hand. Midway through the day, this group will pause to move, release, and re-energize through an uplifting African Dance session with Masani—clearing stagnant energy and opening the body for deeper creative expression—before returning to complete their drum and personalize their drumstick.

    Excursions & Exploration:
The second group ventures outward to embrace the wild beauty of the region. Together, they explore hidden caves, wander the charming village of Kaslo for local shopping, and take in the surrounding mountain landscape. The day concludes with a restorative soak in the healing waters of the hot springs, allowing warmth and mineral-rich pools to relax muscles and calm the nervous system.

As evening arrives, all paths lead back to the lodge where we reunite for a shared supper, reconnecting as one community. The night then unfolds with spacious free time—an opportunity to journal, reflect, explore the land, enjoy the sauna, or book an optional body treatment or tea leaf reading. Cradled by crisp mountain air and the quiet rhythm of nature, we settle in for a deeply restful sleep, ready to continue our journey of coming home to ourselves.

  • We welcome the day with gentle somatic movement, inviting the body to soften, awaken, and listen from within. Together, we enter a sacred labyrinth ceremony—a walking meditation of reflection and intention—followed by a heartfelt group sharing circle to witness and be witnessed.

Once grounded in connection, the group divides once more for a day of experience and exploration. Those who have not yet done so will enter the sacred process of Medicine Drum creation at the lodge, guided by intention and presence in every step. During the day, this group will also pause to move, release, and reawaken their creative energy through an invigorating African Dance session with Masani—clearing the body, lifting the spirit, and opening the pathway for deeper expression as they complete their drums.

The second group ventures outward to explore hidden caves and wander through the charm of Kaslo and surrounding areas, before settling into the restorative embrace of the hot springs. There, warm mineral waters soothe muscles, calm the nervous system, and offer space for reflection amidst the beauty of the mountains.

As the day draws to a close, we return to the lodge to enjoy an evening of nourishing, nutritious food, live music, and the felt heartbeat and soul of the area. Surrounded by community, rhythm, and mountain air, we gather in celebration and connection—allowing the day’s experiences to weave together before surrendering to deep rest beneath the cedars and the quiet night sky.

  • We greet the morning immersed in the living presence of the forest. Through forest bathing, song, meditation, and gentle movement, we awaken our senses and align with the rhythm of the land. Afterward, we gather in the lodge to share a nourishing breakfast, preparing for a day of nature’s wonder and discovery.

Our journey begins at a beloved local viewing area, where we witness one of nature’s most powerful cycles—the salmon spawning. As we spend time along the water, the land often reveals more than expected, offering moments of wildlife, stillness, and quiet awe.

From there, we ascend into the mountains to join Rock Rush Adventures, where we learn the art of rock hounding and discover our own crystals hidden within the earth. With time to explore, dig, and connect to the mountain’s ancient energy, each stone becomes a personal reminder of the day’s experience.

Surrounded by mountains, water and ancient trees we then gather in this remote and powerful land for a transformative 9D breathwork session, breathing deeply with the land and sky as our sanctuary.

With bodies and spirits awakened, we head to one of the region’s favorite local eateries to enjoy a nourishing dinner and taste the flavors of the Kootenays.

The evening continues at the Kootenay House of Healing, where we are immersed in a deeply restorative gong sound session—one of the region’s treasured healing experiences.

Feeling transformed, nourished, and energized—grounded by a mountain crystal and integrated through the power of sound and breath—we return to Johnson’s Landing. Beneath the stars and cradled in the arms of the mountains, we settle into a well-deserved rest, allowing the day’s magic to fully integrate in peaceful sleep.

  • We awaken gently into our final morning, sharing food, quiet reflection, and unhurried time to pack, prepare, and begin the transition home. The pace is spacious and intentional, allowing you to honor all that has shifted, opened, and awakened within you over the weekend.

Before departing, we gather together one last time for a special Closing Ceremony. Through reflection, a sharing circle, and intentional honoring, we acknowledge all that has been gathered, learned, experienced, released, reclaimed, and remembered. This sacred space supports the integration of your journey—helping you carry its wisdom forward into your daily life.

For this experience is not meant to be left behind. It is a doorway—an invitation to live more fully, more authentically, and more aligned with your true nature. May you return home feeling nourished, empowered, and open—living as a blessing to yourself and to all those whose lives you touch.

Held by the mountains, the land, and the connections we have shared, you depart not as you arrived—but as a more grounded, awakened expression of your fullest self.

Originally from South East QC. Growing up on a sugar bush farm, with myfather’s side of the family all on one road. My sister and 4 cousins of mine; wegrew up wild, swimming, kayaking or in the woods in our homemade tipi, making movies with the old video camera and riding horse throughout myteenager years.

At a young age I had deep passion of The Wild West and the Native Americanhistory. As a family we travelled; Appalachian Mountains Eastern USA &western North America through the wild west lands. My journey began in search of my Abenaki roots, frommy father’s great-great grand mother and my mother’s Celtic roots, originating from Scotland & Ireland. Iremember intentionally seeking for signs and once I cleared my eye’s; they came pouring in.

I back packed Europe in 2012, travelled through 13 countries in 3 months, picked grapes at a vineyard; I grew10 years older from the experiences that I learnt on my travels.

The very first drum I made was in a workshop & I became friends with the woman who gave the drumworkshop. A year later, she had approached me as I was self employed; to make drums with her; I was sohonoured. We worked in her workshop together once a week and every other weekend we travelledthroughout QC, to give work shops, including the Innu Tribe Near Quebec City. I turned Native Americanstyle flutes and didgeridoos with my friend Francis Tanguay, in Eastern Qc. I spent some time in their Tipi forthe summer of 2021; turned flutes, dipped in rivers, weaved drums, started leather work; drum bags, flutebags etc.

Between 2017-2019, I studied to become a Reflexologist, level 1 Cranio-sacral therapy & Massage Aromatherapist. The power of touch & healing is so very important in my beliefs, and pray everyone experience’shealing. I am currently in School for RMT course, level 2 Craniosacral therapy as well as Somatic EmotionalRelease levels 1&2. I have a deep passion for Assisting people on they’re Healing Journey.

I worked on the Coast for another 8 months, then decided to come toAlberta, To where one of my dearest Cousin Ashley lives.

Since Spring 2023, I’ve been living permanently in Alberta & little did I know I’d also find a best friend,Partner that I will grow alongside & to whom I have so much gratitude and continuously learning the truemeaning of LOVE. I was Baptized at Hummingbird Falls on a Snowy fall day in the Rocky Mountains; thatalso landed on Truth and Reconciliation, Sept 30th, 2023.

the 2025 Coming Home retreat testimonials

Last summers 2025  retreat in the Kootenays was a transformative blend of healing, creativity, and nature. Crystal brought together an amazing team of facilitators and experiences—from forest 9D breath work to African healing dance, crafting by the river, and kayaking on teal waters. Our personal chef nourished us with colorful, intentional meals that supported the work we were doing. The sound healing with Crystal bowls, the Human Garage‑style fascia release, and the thoughtful surprises Crystal prepared with her team made the experience feel truly special. I left grounded, inspired, and deeply connected to the beautiful people I met on this journey.
